Mac OS X.4 (Tiger) is due in a week. I'm not sure when my copy will arrive, but it would be interesting to get feedback from forum members on it's new accessibility features.

I'm hoping our tech department will give me time to play/learn before they release it on the district!!

Can't wait to see if it lives up to my expectations!!

Just hope they roll it out quickly! Just because of VoiceOver this will be the most important release of OS X for special education since we got Universal Access and Zoom. That doesn’t account for the other new features . Plus, with sufficient RAM, each previous release of OS X has made the same old hardware run faster. This is great news for schools with tight budgets. Can you image a major MS Windows release speeding up an older computer?

Thanks for that MacWorld article link. It’s good to see more than a paragraph or two on a mainstream site. One thing they omitted is how much better Tiger is for keyboard navigation (without VoiceOver running). For example, one can do a complete install without using a mouse (or resorting to Mouse Keys).

Safari, TextEdit, and Mail are fully accessible. Terminal is useable. Success with web pages depends on how they are coded.
